Clinical Dietitian - Fitness - Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Dietitian will provide personalized nutrition counseling to ForeverFit members   based on evidence based best practice guidelines.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Provide personalized nutrition counseling to ForeverFit members.
  • Assess dietary needs based on fitness goals and create customized meal plans and education on health eating habits. 
  • Collaborates with fitness trainers to optimize clients overall health and performance. 
  • Documents assessments, reassessments and care plans for all clinical exercise referrals in the EMR using the standardized ‘Nutrition Care Process’. 
  • Create nutritional presentation for quarterly Lunch and Learns. 
  • Provide nutritional content or recipes for monthly newsletters
  • Provide group nutrition care to in areas such as diabetes and oncology based on provider referrals.
  • Provides care according to organizational ethics, licensure, and the Standards of Professional Practice for Dietetics
  • Applies The Joint Commission and/or other regulatory standards in the provision of     nutrition services.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Education: 
•    Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics or related field and completion of a dietetic internship. 
•    Registered Dietitian (RD) status and/or successful completion of the national registration examination (RD) within 120 days of hire. 
 

Skills:
•    Must be able to use the hospital computer system to input and retrieve data.
•    Must be able to follow direction, communicate effectively (verbal and written), with compassion and empathy, respond to inquiries timely; have effective interpersonal skills.
 

Years of Experience: One year in an acute care setting preferred.
License: Ohio dietitians must be licensed with the State Medical Board of Ohio(LD) and/or obtain licensure within 120 days of hire.

Certification: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or be eligible to successfully complete the examination within 120 days of hire.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Employee will be expected to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by the hospital.
  • Physical Demands: Employee should be able to be standing, moving or walking for long lengths of time, and this may happen for the entirety of the shift.
