REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Therapist assistant will report to manager, will have clinical oversight from licensed therapist and will not have any direct reports. Therapist assistant may supervise student completing observation or clinical affiliation hours.
POSITION SUMMARY
Administers various physical therapy programs under guidelines established by a Licensed Physical Therapist to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients, to maximize function and independence. Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptations and productivity

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
Skills: Must know and utilize theories of physical medicine.

License: Current PTA License in State of practice
Certification: CPR according to hospital policy

WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: As required.
Physical Demands:. Majority of time spent standing, bending, and doing patient care treatments.
Possess physical ability and condition to handle patients correctly and safely. Be able to handle standard equipment that is in a physical therapy department.
